Permit Verdict sells building-permit feeds to contractors. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how it is protected. It is written to describe how this service actually works rather than to cover every eventuality.
We hold almost nothing about you. We have no customer database — Stripe processes payments and is our record of who subscribes. We run no analytics and no advertising trackers. We have never sold, and will not sell, personal information.
Every permit record we show comes from an official municipal open-data portal and is public record, published by the city under a public-domain or open licence. We report property activity only: the address, the type of work, the declared value, the dates, the permit status, and — where the city itself publishes it — the contracting business named on the permit.
We deliberately do not map, store or display the names of property owners or occupants, even where a city publishes them. That is a design decision, enforced in code and covered by automated tests, not a promise we make and then forget.
Where a city publishes the name of a contracting business, we treat that as commercial information about a firm operating publicly, not personal data. Names that look like private individuals rather than businesses are filtered out before anything is displayed.
If you believe something we display about you is wrong or should not be there, email support@permitverdict.com and we will look at it. Note that we do not control the source records — a correction usually has to be made with the city that issued the permit, and our copy refreshes from them.
pv_feed containing the identifier of your Stripe checkout session. Its only job is to let you get back to your feed on the same device if you lose the link. It is not analytics, it carries no profile, and no third party can read it. It is HttpOnly and Secure, lasts a year, and clearing your cookies removes it.There are no advertising cookies, no third-party pixels, no session recording and no cross-site tracking anywhere on this site.
That is the complete list. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else, and we do not sell it. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose something we will say so unless prohibited.
The strongest protection here is that there is very little to protect. We keep no customer database and no copy of the permit data — both are read live from Stripe and the cities. Traffic is served over HTTPS. Your feed link is a long random identifier issued by Stripe rather than a password we store, and it stops working the moment your subscription ends, with no manual revocation step for anyone to forget.
Your feed link is the credential — anyone holding it can see your feed, so treat it as private. If you think it has been exposed, contact us and we will help you rotate it.
We do not hold a customer record to delete — Stripe retains payment and subscription history under its own retention rules, which is also what tax law requires of us. Server logs are short-lived. The pv_feed cookie expires after a year or when you clear it.
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to object to certain processing. We do not sell personal information and do not process it for behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, or to ask what we hold, email support@permitverdict.com. We will respond, and we will tell you honestly when the answer is that we hold nothing.
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing subscribers will be emailed.
